Today, the prime minister of Japan declared that he had decided to dissolve the Diet and proceed with the suffrage next month. Just then, it flashed across my mind that there had been all kinds of opinions about the dissolusion of the Diet. And this time, I finally felt that the time has arrived. The time for changing the ruling party, the Liberal Democratic Party(LDP), which had been the reigning political group for more than fifty years, is drawing nearer and nearer. I think Japan has been ruled by the same party for a long, long period of time. For this reason, the LDP has been ignoring the opinions of the public, which, is the same reason why Japanese politics is spoiled. I believe rivalry is neccessary to let something grow. Unfortunately, Japanese politics have been monopolized for so many years. Thus, I want Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) to win this time. A sense of competition needs to be brought into Japanese politics in order for people to live with relief.
