I live in Japan now. I can see a very big number of people wherever I go. It is a very congested country. I'm not into noisy places. Indeed, I don't like crowded areas. Thus, I'm often stressed when I go out. Some may say they don't dislike spots jammed with a lot of people. However, even these people must be under stress unconsciously. Because living things must be given stress to correspond to their population density. Poor eyesight, immobility, increasing bodily wastes can affect our bodies, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal system is activated and an adrenocorticotropic hormone is released from the pituitary gland leading to the activation of the cortex in the adrenal gland. Once an adrenal cortex is stimulated, an adrenocortical hormone is released which leads to diverse consequences. At one point, I was asked by a foreign person, "Why do Japanese smoke despite being a very young age? It's just harmful!". This question is just what I always wonder about. I can't really understand such futile behavior. For I, at all times, put importance on lucrativeness. I guess many Japanese can be affected by high population density regardless of age. And I also speculate that it may be why many Japanese smoke, since when they were in junior or senior high school despite it being banned by the government until they are 18 years of age in Japan. I think that this is one of the few reasons Japanese drive recklessly in spite of putting their lives in danger. These actions may be the result of being affected to some degree by mental stress coming from high population density. |
