| $Diary January 22, 2010$ "Heading for Lake Ontario." |

I was planning to go see Lake Ontario today and headed for an apartment where I arranged to meet with my friends who were going with me. But on the way I got lost. I heard "Main street opposite Macklin street" as the name of bus stop to get off. However, at that time in my brain the name was like "???? street opposite M???lin street" so I was waiting for the word "street" to appear twice in the announcement, leading to me missing the bus stop named "Main opposite Macklin". I went to the terminal of this route and the driver said "It's the terminal so you should take the bus ahead." so I took the bus ahead of me. I remember that this was the beginning of the trouble. The bus I took was not going to via Main opposite Macklin and I was taken to an unknown place I'd never been to. It was in the middle of the mountain and no stores were there, only a road and a few buses bound for unknown areas. It was already dark and it's very cold since it's the Canadian winter, and I didn't feel like waiting for the next bus because of the coldness. So I had decided to go on foot until I saw a bus stop I had seen before. After a while, I saw the sign saying "Ancaster Old Mill". I remember, around here, I gradually became worried about losing my way. It's very cold and dark, the wind blew hard, but I headed through the cold toward my unknown goal. After an hour, I saw the sign "The beginning of Mohawk street"..... "oh..... I guess I can reach home sometime if I keep going this way". This thought stirred me and I headed for the mall I'd been to before and I thought I could reach if I kept going this way. After a long walk, I finally reached the mall I'd been to before. After shopping, I left for home. And I finally got home at around 8 pm. I remember it was around 5pm when I looked at my watch while strolling around "Ancaster Old Mill", so I was strolling for more than 3 hours before I got home. Today, I couldn't get to Lake Ontario. It's my mother's birthday and I planned to take pictures of the lake and send them to her. So it's a pity I could not go..... I'll try next time. |
